Cognitive Neuropsychology

This is a theoretical course which gives exposure on the fundamental aspects of neuropsychology in the field of speech and hearing sciences. The topics covered revolve around major brain structures, systems and associated higher functions governing information processsing, learning and neuroplasticty. This course also delves into the psycholinguistic processes of language comprehension and production, and issues related to cross-linguistic variations. Emphasis of this knowledge will be applied to better understanding the mechanisms underlying common neurodevelopmental and acquired speech-language and hearing disorders, across lifespan.
