QUALITY MANAGEMENT
This course provides exposure, knowledge, understanding, and synthesis to quality control and quality improvement techniques in the manufacturing system. Analyze quality control problems using computer software. It covers quality control in organization; methods for quality measurement and quality tools. The following topics shall be taught: Introduction; Basics of quality; Quality gurus (i.e. Deming, Juran, Crosby, Shewhart, Ishikawa, and Taguchi); Total Quality Management (TQM); Quality improvement techniques; introduction to quality control methods {i.e. Statistics, Variable Control Chart, Process Capability, Other Variable Control Charts, Control Chart for Attributes}; Extensions of quality scope (i.e. reliability, cost of quality, product liability, ISO9000, Lot-By-Lot Sampling Technique, Malcolm Baldrige Award, Benchmarking and Auditing}.
