This course introduces students to the understanding of exercise physiology, nutrition and physical activity. Students will learn about the requirements and metabolism of carbohydrates, protein and fat during exercise. In addition, students will be exposed to the relevance of physical activity to fitness and public health. Nutritional needs according to sports as well as specific groups are also discussed. Techniques of assessing body composition and physical fitness are also described. Students also learn the problems and recommendations related to sports nutrition and fitness.
