Students will understand principles of critical care, including holistic care, process and standard of care. Students will be exposed to theory aspects of management of airway including advanced mode mechanical ventilation, ABG and acid-base imbalance interpretation and management; unconscious patient, bleeding, ECG (advanced rhythm) including cardiac monitoring, cardioversion & defibrillation and pacemakers, and venous, arterial, intracranial and pulmonary pressure monitoring. This course also focuses on managing pain, brain death, organ transplantation and medication use.
