Kursus ini terdiri daripada kuliah, tutorial dan pakej pembelajaran kendiri. Pelajar didedahkan tentang prinsip asas dan proses sel serta biologi molekul. Pelajar didedahkan kepada kefahaman mengenai organisasi, replikasi dan pengekspresan bahan genetik dalam sel prokariot dan eukariot. Pelajar dijelaskan tentang aberasi kromosom serta variasi bilangan kromosom. Pelajar didedahkan tentang peringkat dan proses mutasi DNA dan proses pembaikpulihan. Proses pemindahan bahan genetik dalam bakteria juga disentuh.
This course consists of lecture, tutorial and self-learning package. Students taking this course will be taught the basics of cellular and molecular biology. The scheme of the study in molecular biology aims to expose students to topics such as gene organisation and control of gene expression in eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems. Recent advances in chromosomal aberrations and variations in chromosome numbers are also covered. Students will also be exposed to DNA mutation and repair. The process of genetic materials being transferred in bacteria will also be taught.
